Bad Planning? or Bad design?

Sometimes we get a little too desparate for things that we don,t look at the details!

These are grade 1 listed railways cottages, in the heart of Crewe Town centre, and would look fantastic in any town or city, but if you look to the end of the street you see a "grey blanket of uninspiring design!" what a mistake.

Who is to blame the cllrs, the planners, or the developers, or us as we were a little too eager to get a leisure scheme.

But that's progress, isn't it? Everyone screamed out for a new leisure park!

It is progress - but we need to look at the design that is compatiable with such fantastic cottages, some of the only few left in the town- the former panners have a lot to anwser for

Im sure it mustn't look so bad in the summer with leaves on tree's. However I do think that the large commercial/industrial units that go up using these construction methods could have had a little time spent on the aesthetics. They are *damn* ugly. A prime example is travelling away from the railway station down Weston road, just before the roundabout you get two great grey soulless behemoths! :( I hope they plant plenty of shrubbery to try and disguise them!

As a side note Im glad that the blogger can appreciate the aesthetics of the environment around us, and will document such things! Good on you!
